LCol (retd) Dennis Reed oversaw the 100th Anniversary Celebrations of the Regiment as perpetuated in 9 Battery.  He took Command of the Regiment on 250th Artillery Day in 1966 in the presence of the Master Gunner of St. James Park, General Sir Robert Mansergh and the His Worship Mayor Givens.  Along with a Freedom of the City parade he oversaw the Regiment fire a 100-Round-Salute at Fort York to honour the occasion.  LCol Reed also saw the move of the Regiment to Moss Park Armoury.  He commanded during an intensive 1967 Centenary with many demands on soldiers for Salutes and the Band “On Tour” playing throughout Ontario.  Also in 1967, he held the Centennial Gunner Reunion Dinner in which active and retired Gunners came together in Toronto.  He was active in distributing the Gunners of Canada Vol .1, which was first published again in a very busy 1967.  Along with the festivities that highlighted his Command, LCol Reed led a crack lot of Militia soldiers, 7th Toronto Reg’t placed First in the RCA Unit Competition for General Efficiency and second for Gun Battery Practice in both 1967 and 1968.
